This is a great recipe that utilizes the bottom round steak cut of beef. It is easy to prepare and makes a very nice family meal.

Swiss Steak Recipe

1 1/2 c. water
1 can tomato paste
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 bay leaf
1 medium onion, sliced
1 medium green pepper, chopped

salt & pepper

Trim fat and cut beef into serving portions. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and flour on both sides. Place in baking dish. In the blender, combine water, tomato paste, salt and thyme. Blend to mix well and pour over beef. Add the bay leaf and place sliced onion and green pepper over all. Cover and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours at 350 degrees.
