How To Make Homemade Ham and Cheese Calzones Recipe

My family enjoys ham and cheese calzones but we don't enjoy the price when we buy them out. Over the years we started making our own here at home. They are a lot easier to make than what you might think and don't take that much time to prepare. We like to make a lot of these at one time so that we can freeze some for future use. We prepare them, wrap them, label them and freeze them for up to 3 months in the freezer. We do not bake them before freezing.

Ham & Cheese Calzones Recipe

2 tubes of refrigerate pizza crusts
1 cup ricotta cheese
4-6 oz. sliced pepperoni
2 c. cooked ham, diced
2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
Parmesan Cheese, shredded
Dried Basil
Meatless Spaghetti Sauce, warmed

Unroll 1 pizza crust, stretching gently to make a 14x11" rectangle. Spread half of the ricotta cheese on half of the dough to within 1" of edges. Sprinkle half of the pepperoni, ham and Mozzarella Cheese. Fold unfilled side of dough over filled half and press edges together. Repeat for remaining crusts. Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. You could also cut these up into bite sized pieces and insert a pick in them and use as an appetizer.
