Beef Patties with Cheese Sauce Recipe

This is a delicious family-style recipe that utilizes beef...so if your family loves cheeseburgers, they should love this recipe too! We make this one every few weeks and everyone loves it, even the kids! It is fairly easy to prepare and tastes delicious!!! Your family will love it too!

Beef Patties with Cheese Sauce Recipe

1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1 Tbsp. minced parsley
2 large eggs

Cheese Sauce Recipe

2 Tbsp. butter, softened
2 Tbsp. all purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 tsp. Dijon-Style mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup diced Cheddar Cheese
1 large fresh tomato, chopped

4 slices mild cheddar cheese
2 large tomatoes, sliced

Mix ground beef, onion, salt, pepper, parsley and eggs in a large bowl. Divide into four parts. Shape each into a ball; flatten slightly. Place into a baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until meat is done. While meat bakes, prepare cheese sauce. Melt butter in a small pan and add flour. Over high heat, stir in milk, heat to a boiling and whisk until thickened. Stir in mustard, salt and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Add tomato. Pour sauce over cooked meat patties. Top with a slice of cheese and a slice of tomato. Return to oven just long enough to heat the tomato and melt the cheese. Serve immediately.
