Chicken and Dumplings Soup Recipe
1 chicken, cut up
1 medium onion, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 teaspoons parsley flakes
1 package frozen peas
1 package of frozen sliced carrots
1 box of Bisquick Mix
Cook chicken, onion, salt, pepper and parsley in a large stock pot. When cooked, remove chicken from the broth and remove chicken from the bone. Re-add the chopped chicken to the broth. Stir in the thawed peas and carrots to the soup. Cook soup for 25 minutes on medium heat. Follow directions on the Bisquick box to make dumplings and add to your soup, cooking for an additional few minutes.
If the family isn't ready for dinner, pour it all into a large crockpot and set the temperature to warm. I often prepare dinner ahead of time and then just keep it warmed up in my crockpot.
