Easy To Make Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe

One of my favorite vegetables is mushrooms and one of my favorite meats is pork...when you combine the two...you get a fabulous Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe!

This recipe is really easy to prepare and only takes 4-5 ingredients.

Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe

1 1/2 lbs. medium to large sized mushrooms
1/2 lb. Italian style sausage
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs (I use my own homemade bread crumbs)
Parsley (optional)

Note: You can find my recipe for homemade bread crumbs here on my blog under the bread category.

Wash and dry your mushrooms. Remove the stems and chop mushrooms into pieces. In a large frying pan over medium heat, brown and cook the sausage until it is done. Remove sausage from frying pan and place onto 2 paper towels. Remove all but 2 tablespoons of drippings (grease) from the frying pan. Turn your burner on and cook your mushroom stems until tender. Remove the mushroom stems from the frying pan and stir in the Italian style sausage, shredded Mozzarella cheese and bread crumbs. Fill the mushroom caps with the mixture. Place mushroom caps in a large rectangular baking dish and bake in a preheated oven set at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. You can garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
