Product Review: Barbara's Bakery All-Natural Breakfast Cereals

Today I would like to introduce you to the company called Barbara's Bakery that makes all-natural cereals, animal cookies, crunchy granola bars, multi-grain cereal bars, fruit and yogurt bars, fig bars, crackers and cheese puffs. This wonderful company started it's business back in 1971 when Barbara opened up a small all-natural bakery in northern California. Babara's Bakery is committed to creating and selling the best-tasting natural products that are free of artificial preservatives & ingredients, hydrogenated oils and refined white sugar. If you are looking for healthy all-natural breakfast cereals and snack foods...you have got to check out the products by Barbara's Bakery.

My Review: Barbara's Bakery sent me 2 boxes of their all-natural cereal to try out for all of you. I received one box of the High Fiber Cranberry Cereal and one box of the Puffins Peanut Butter Cereal.

First up...the High Fiber Cranberry Cereal which is a naturally sweet blend of real cranberries, whole grains and pomegranate flavor. There is no artificial flavors, additives or preservatives in this cereal. It is a good source of fiber, iron and vitamin D. Serving size is 1 cup of cereal with 1/2 a cup of skim milk which is 230 calories per bowl. A great cereal for those who are watching their weight and/or for those who want to eat great tasting natural cereals which are good for you! Hubby and I sat down a few mornings ago to try out our new cereal and we used 2% milk in ours. We both thought that this cereal had a nice crunchy taste to it and we loved the cranberries that were in it. You won't find just one or two cranberries...but a lot of cranberries (they didn't skimp on the fruit!). It took me about 10 minutes to eat my bowl of cereal and I was pleasantly surprised that even after 10 minutes of it being in milk it still was nice and crunchy. (I am not a fan of soggy cereals). Overall, we both LOVED this cereal!

Second up...the box of Puffins Peanut Butter Cereal. This cereal is low in fat, has only 6g. of sugar per serving, no artificial flavors, additives or preservatives and it has 0g. of trans fat per serving. It is naturally cholesterol free, vegan and kosher. This is a great cereal for both adults and children. Serving size is 3/4 cup of cereal with 1/2 cup skim milk and that serving only has 150 calories. We decided to try out this cereal on a different day and we used 2% milk with ours. The first thing you taste is a peanut butter taste but it's not an over-whelming peanut butter taste...I would say it is just right and it was sweet but not overly sweet like traditional cereals which we prefer a less-sweet type of cereal ourselves. It took us about 10 minutes to eat our cereal and it was still crunchy by the time we finished our bowl. It wasn't as crunchy as cereal number one but still...it wasn't soggy either.

Overall Impression: Well...I personally preferred the high fiber Cranberry cereal as my favorite and my darling hubby preferred the Puffins peanut butter cereal as his favorite choice...although we both admit that we would eat either flavor and we plan on finishing these boxes of cereal within a few days. Would we buy them and serve them to our family? Yes we would! Personally as an adult...I think the cranberry is a great choice for us grown-ups and for those who purchase cereals for kids...I think the Puffins is a great choice for them! We give both flavors a big 2 cereal spoons (thumbs) up!

We would like to thank Barbara's Bakery for sending us the boxes of cereal to try out for our foodie product review. We enjoyed eating them and look forward to purchasing more.
