Homemade Chocolate Date and Walnut Fudge Recipe

Here is a great fudge recipe for all of you chocolate, date and walnut lovers out there! When making fudge I do recommend that you use a candy thermometer to ensure your fudge making success.

Chocolate Date and Walnut Fudge Recipe

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup milk
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
2 squares (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
3 tbsp. butter, softened
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/3 cup chopped pitted dates
1/3 cup chopped walnuts

In a large saucepan combine together the sugars, milk & corn syrup. Chop the chocolate and add to the saucepan. Cook the mixture slowly, stirring constantly over medium-high heat so that mixture comes to a boil. You want to check your mixture with your candy thermometer and continue boiling it until it reaches 236 degrees F. Remove from heat and stir in the butter, vanilla extract, pitted dates and chopped walnuts. Pour mixture into a well greased 8" by 8" baking dish. Let it cool and harden before cutting it into squares
