Grandma's Delicious Maple Walnut Spice Cake Recipe

Another great recipe from Grandma for her homemade Maple Walnut Spice Cake. If walnuts are not your thing...you can use pecans, cashews or even peanuts in stead. This makes a really nice dessert cake that tastes delicious and is moist.

Maple Walnut Spice Cake Recipe

1 large egg
1/2 cup sour milk
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or nuts of choice

In a large mixing bowl beat the large egg and then add in the sour milk, maple syrup and melted butter. In another bowl sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt and then pour it into the first bowl. You will want to stir the mixture well until everything is combined. Pour batter into a well greased 11" by 8" baking dish and sprinkle the chopped nuts on top. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes or until done.
