Pan-Fried Breaded Tilapia Fish Recipe

Hubby and I are trying to incorporate more fish into our diets so last night we made some breaded Tilapia for dinner. Fish is high in important OMEGA nutrients which are essential for good health. This recipe is really easy to make and from start to finish you can have it done in less than 30 minutes. Here is how we made it. I make this recipe about once a month & everyone in my family loves it.

Pan-Fried Breaded Tilapia Fish Recipe

1/2 cup seasoned fine bread crumbs (we make our own)
3 egg whites, beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 tablespoons lemon juice in 2 cups of water
4 tablespoons minced onion
vegetable oil

In a large bowl combine together the water and lemon juice. Place Tilapia fish fillets into the lemon water and refrigerate for one hour. Remove from refrigerator. Pour seasoned bread crumbs into a plastic bag. In another bowl beat the egg whites until slightly fluffy. Stir in the salt, ground black pepper and minced onion. Dip the fillets into the egg mixture until it is coated on both sides. Place each fillet into the bread crumb bag one at a time and coat them with the bread crumb mixture.

Heat up the vegetable oil in a large skillet until it's hot. Place the breaded fillets into the hot oil and cover the pan. Simmer the fillets on each side for 4-5 minutes (flipping in between). Once your fish has been completely cooked remove it from the pan and place onto a serving platter lined with paper towels to catch the grease. Serve immediately.
