OXO Salad Spinner

Today I would like to introduce you to the company called OXO who makes a wide variety of high-quality kitchen tools and accessories. When you shop at OXO you will find easy to use hand-held mandoline slicers, 5 lb. food scales, 3 piece fruit and vegetable peeler sets, dressing shakers, tea kettles, grilling accessories, bar & wine accessories and more!

My Review: OXO sent me their wonderful Salad Spinner to review for all of you. We are huge salad eaters, so I was super excited to be reviewing this item for all of you. The salad spinner comes in a lime green color and let me tell you, it is pretty large! You can make and spin an entire family-sized salad in this spinner!

To use the salad spinner you simply press the soft, non-slip knob to start the basket spinning. Easy, one-handed operation makes this Spinner a pleasure to use, and a built-in brake stops the Salad Spinner so you can unload it. A non-slip ring keeps the bowl steady on the countertop, and the basket and bowl can be used separately.

After I washed up my new salad spinner, I decided to immediately prepare my family's dinner salad. I washed and chopped up my iceberg lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots. I then placed my chopped lettuce into the salad spinner and gave it a whirl by pushing the knob on the top one time. It automatically spun the basket around for about a minute and a half. I didn't have to keep pumping/pushing the knob at all.

Once it was done, I lifted the basket which held my lettuce out of the salad spinner and dumped the water out. Seriously, it did an excellent job at getting rid of all of that water! Furthermore, it didn't shred up my lettuce like some salad spinners do. I then added in all of my other chopped ingredients and placed the lid back on top. Into the refrigerator it went until dinner time.

When it came to serving time, I just placed the salad spinner onto the table and my family dug in for their salads. Hubby immediately commented to me how his salad was not soggy or wet! yeah!!! I love how large this salad spinner is. The bowl will hold 6.22 quarts and the basket will hold 4.95 quarts so trust me, it's large enough for an entire family and great for couples too.

On the bottom of the bowl is a non-slip grip so that it won't slide around on your countertop or table. I appreciate that as my countertop often gets wet when I am chopping fresh vegetables. I love that it's super easy to use and clean up is a snap since it is top-rack dishwasher safe. yeah!

You can purchase this fantastic Salad Spinner from OXO for only $29.99 which I feel is a fabulous price because it is worth every dime! I love it! I even used it to spin water off some fresh raspberries and it did a great job with that too!
