Homemade Strawberry Shortcake Recipe by Bisquick

I love using Bisquick baking mix in a variety of my recipes and today I thought I would share with all of you our preferred Strawberry Shortcakes Recipe and it's by the great folks over at Bisquick. This recipe makes 6 shortcakes, but I always double up my ingredients and make/bake 12 shortcakes at a time.

Homemade Strawberry Shortcakes Recipe

4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick mix
2/3 cup milk
3 Tablespoons granulated sugar
3 Tablespoons butter, melted
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Mix the strawberries and 1/2 cup sugar together, set aside. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

In a large mixing bowl combine together the Bisquick baking mix, milk, 3 tablespoons granulated sugar and the melted butter until a soft dough forms. Drop by 6 spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in a 425 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Split the warm shortcakes; fill and top with the strawberries and whipped topping. Enjoy!

Please Note: You can also use fresh blueberries, red raspberries or even blackberries and make a different flavored shortcake dessert. hmmmm good!
