How many of you are fans of The Food Network? C'mon now, raise your hands! As a foodie, I am practically addicted to The Food Network shows and I am a frequent visitor to their online site too! I admit, I need my "Food Network" fix every day!

Food Truck Hopefuls Hit The Highway For Third Season Of The Great Food Truck Race

Today I wanted to tell you about THE GREAT FOOD TRUCK RACE which is beginning their third season on Sunday, August 19th, 2012 at 10pm EST. The ever popular host of the show, Tyler Florence is back and hosting season 3.

This season you all are in for a real surprise because there is a new twist that is going to really shake things up! For season 3 there will be 8 teams who want to be in the food truck business (in seasons past, they were already food truck operators) and these 8 teams will be battling it out to try to win the grand prize which includes: a food truck (the one they used in the competition) and a $50,000 cash prize to start their own business! Wow, what a great prize for the team that win's it!

There will be 3 people (players) on each of the 8 teams so you know the drama will be fierce and the competition will be heavy! Each team’s inspired cuisine and road strategy is put to the test in city-specific challenges that begin at a Long Beach, California lighthouse and continue through the finale at the West Quoddy Lighthouse in Maine.

The 7 episode series will premiere on Sunday, August 19th, 2012 at 10pm ET, after the finale of Chopped: Grill Masters, and beginning the next week will air in its regular time slot on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT.

I would love to know how many of you watch this show? What do you think of the new twist that is going on for season 3? I am super excited about the series starting up again next month on The Food Network and on night one, I will be sacked out on my sofa with a big bowl of popcorn. How about you?
