Easy Homemade Apple Crisp Recipe

During this time of year I really enjoy baking a variety of things using fresh apples from our local orchard. Just last weekend I spent time baking up some apple pies, apple bread and some delicious apple crisp. This particular recipe for apple crisp is really easy to prepare and you can freeze some for later use. (Just make & bake a double batch).

Homemade Apple Crisp Recipe

1 cup oatmeal
1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup butter, softened
6 cups sliced apples
1/2 tsp. salt
ground cinnamon to taste

In a large mixing bowl combine together the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar and softened butter. Blend together until crumbly. Place apples into a large 9" by 13" baking dish. Top with the crumbly oatmeal mixture; covering the apples. Sprinkle the salt and ground cinnamon on top.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until done. Remove from oven and serve warm or serve chilled, entirely up to you. Refrigerate all leftovers.
