Chicken Soup for the Soul Honey Mustard Barbecue Sauce

I have been a fan of the Chicken Soup for the Soul line of books for many years now and was pretty excited to learn that they have a new line of barbecue sauces that is hitting the retail market. Today, I am going to give you some information about them and tell you my thoughts on the one that we got to review. Trust me, if you love a great tasting barbecue sauce, you will want to continue reading!

With summer fast approaching, so is grilling season, but Barbeque Sauce doesn’t just have to be for the grill. While the company is well known for their books, Chicken Soup for the Soul has some creative ideas for how to use their BBQ sauces to make more than just a main dish pop:

* Use Chicken Soup for the Soul BBQ sauce on pizza dough instead of tomato-based pizza sauce for a smoky-sweet note.

* Spice up your bacon by brushing a little Chicken Soup for the Soul BBQ sauce on strips of cooked bacon and bake in the oven for 2 minutes for an explosion of flavor.

* Mix 2 tbsp. of Chicken Soup for the Soul barbecue sauce to ½ cup sour cream to make a zesty dip for your raw veggies. For an extra crunch, sprinkle Chicken Soup for the Soul soup toppers at the end.
We had our choice of which sauce we wanted to try out from these four selections: Original, Buffalo, Honey Mustard, and Sweet Chipotle Bourbon. We decided to go with the Honey Mustard Barbecue Sauce since we like ours on the sweet side.

We had some guests over to our home for Memorial Day and did the traditional backyard barbecue. We used the sauce on some grilled chicken and several of our guests used it as a traditional hamburger & cheeseburger topper (instead of catsup).

What I really appreciated about this sauce is the fact that it is sweet and not a fiery, mouth-burning barbecue sauce. Sorry folks, at my age, fiery-hot does nothing but irritate my ulcers. The Honey Mustard Barbecue Sauce was very flavorful and I appreciated the smooth texture with no chunky business going on with it. Yes, I am picking about barbecue sauce!

Several of our party guests ask me about the sauce and I told them all it was from Chicken Soup for the Soul. Just like me, none of us were aware that they had a line of foodie products! Now that we all know, we can definitely buy them and enjoy them! You can find out more about them and the foodie products that they have to offer by visiting their website.

Great barbecue sauce that gets the big 2-thumbs up from us!
