Little Black Dress Wines - Review + Vinopolitan Cocktail Recipe

Over the years, I’ve developed a true appreciation and love (possibly borderline obsession) with wine. I enjoy going to wine tasting events and trying and buying different varietals and being introduced to new labels that I haven’t tried before. I was quite happy when I learned I’d be trying out three bottles of wine from Little Black Dress wines. Little Black Dress wines are just like the iconic little black dress: simply timeless, playfully elegant and ready for anything at a moment’s notice.

The three wines I received to try out were the Little Black Dress 2011 Pinot Noir, the 2012 Divalicious Pink Pinot and the 2011 Pinot Grigio. These are the perfect wines to have on hand for that impromptu party with the girls or would be ideal with a cheese plate in the backyard on a beautiful day. Here’s a quick overview of each wine along with my thoughts:

Pinot Noir – this wine has aromas of cherry and clove and soft floral notes, with a seductive finish of strawberry jam and pomegranate. I found it to go very well with a light past marinara dish, but this wine could be paired with wide range of foods including salmon or roasted chicken too. My favorite thing to pair with this pinot? Dark chocolate! Truly delish!

Divalicous Pink Pinot – this wine has an effervescent Pinot Grigio base, bright aromas with light notes of strawberry and citrus and a clean, crisp finish. This is definitely a great picnic wine and would go well with light sandwiches, fruit salad and a variety of cheeses.

Pinot Grigio – this light and enjoyable wine is perfect for a warm day with its aromas of apple, pear and lemongrass and zesty hints of tangerine. It’s a nicely balanced and refreshing wine and would go well with a shrimp or scallop dish.

In addition, Little Black Dress Wines introduced three unique “PINK DRINK” cocktails this summer as part of their collaboration with the global non-profit organization Keep A Breast Foundation. The featured cocktails are easy to make and include, The Vinopolitan, the Diva Sangria and the Cherry Shandy. This lovely trio of drinks are just the thing to enjoy during these last few weeks of summer.

Currently, Little Black Dress offers eight different varieties of wine so you can always find the perfect fit! With the holidays sneaking up on us (yikes--they will be here before you know it), it’s always a good idea to have plenty of wine on hand for those last minute hostess gifts or parties. These wines are available at locations throughout the country. Use the Little Black Dress Wine finder online to locate the nearest location to you.

I think I would love all,3 wines, and in the order in which you described them with the Pinot Noir being my favorite to go with a full dinner. I also like the recipe for the cocktail, although I might want to enhance the cherry overtones with some tart cherry juice.
