Chateau La Paws Cabernet Sauvignon

Two things that I’m very passionate about are dogs and wine, and luck would have it that the fantastic folks at Chateau La Paws feel the same way. What was previously Rosenblum Cellars is now revitalized to the Chateau La Paws brand in tribute to the founder’s love for dogs. Located in the heart of the wine-growing region of Central California, Chateau La Paws is a wine that not only tastes great as an affordable everyday wine, but the winery gives back to support no kill shelters.

Chateau La Paws recently released four new varietals of their wine -- Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sweet Red Blend and Sauvignon Blanc, which feature 28 North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) rescue dogs on the labels. With this official partnership with NSALA, Chateau La Paws is helping shelter dogs find a chateau of their own. These new wine offerings join award-winning Chateau La Paws Chardonnay, Red Blend and Pinot Noir, which launched earlier this year and have won multiple awards.

I was fortunate enough to receive a bottle of one of Chateau LaPaws newest varietals, the Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine offers the inviting combination of juicy black fruit and roasted coffee and has notes of vanilla and toasted spices. It is a medium bodied, smooth wine that features a small percentage of Merlot, which adds some complexity. This is an easy drinking wine that can pair with just about anything, but I would recommend something like braised short ribs or roasted lamb for sure.

We have a shelter dog and he’s brought so much happiness and joy into our lives. I can’t imagine life without his sweet, furry face. You can share stories and images of your own shelter dogs on the Chateau La Paws Facebook page.

You can also offer your support by picking up a few bottles of this delicious wine – it makes a great gift for your dog-loving friends and supports such an important cause. With the holidays coming up, it can’t hurt to have a few extra bottles on hand. Chateau La Paws wines are available in stores nationwide and sold at the suggested retail price of $12.99 for a 750 mL bottle.

I have not yet tried this line of wines, but I am happy that they allow shelter dogs to be supported. The Cabernet Sauvignon with its different flavors of fruit, coffee, vanilla and spices sounds delicious.

I don't drink wine or any alcohol but just adore dogs so liked their Facebook page, which has the cutest pups in Halloween costumes right now. Thank goodness I have friends that drink/need wine! Very affordable and California product, so love this. ~Deb
