Available in the company’s home market of Montana since 2009, cooksimple is now going national, landing in more than 2,000 stores across the country, including many Whole Foods, Wegmans, Earth Fare, Sprouts, ShopRite, and Fresh & Easy stores.
My Review: The company sent me 4 dinner kits to try out for all of you. We received the following kits: Cowboy Chili, Punjabi Curry, Tamale Pie, and Cranberry Wild Rice. What is really nice about these dinner kits is that 3 of the 4 are made on the stove top! Great for wok lovers like myself!
First up...the Punjabi Curry with Coconut and Brown Rice. This is a gluten-free, all natural and no sugars added meal kit. The only ingredients you need to add are: diced chicken and olive oil. Everything else included in the kit! From start to finish this one took us less than 30 minutes to prepare and then it was on the table! Out of all 4 kits that we tried, this one was our "least" favorite because we are not huge fans of anything with curry. Nothing wrong with the kit, just our taste buds! Regardless, the family enjoyed it but it wouldn't be something I would normally make for them.
Next up...the Cowboy Quinoa Chili which is a gluten-free, all natural and no sugars added meal kit. You can make this several different ways and all of the preparation options are printed right on the box. We opted to add 2 cans of kidney beans and some lean ground beef to the cowboy chili to "beef" it up for dinner. The family really enjoyed this meal kit and it was their second favorite out of the four.
Finally, the Tamale Pie (black bean chili with cornbread topping) is gluten-free, all natural and no added sugars dinner kit. For this dinner kit, you will need to add some ground turkey, diced tomatoes, egg, cheddar cheese, olive oil and honey. (Basically your meat and wet ingredients). This kit is really easy to prepare and from start to finish, it was on the table in less than 30 minutes. This was my family's third favorite one out of the four we reviewed.
I really appreciated that I only had to add my meats and wet ingredients with all of these dinner kits and from start to finish, all were on the table in less than 30 minutes. These make for great quick & easy meals on those busy nights of the week. The preparation instructions are all quick & easy to understand, nothing labor intensive at all. We give them a huge 2 thumbs up!
