3 Winners! Gorton's Fish and Seafood

I absolutely love to cook and bake and it's one of my favorite things to do for my family! With that said, I like to make delicious tasting dishes that don't take hours to prepare and I want them to include every day ingredients. I was recently given the opportunity to do a review for the Gorton's company and I jumped at the chance!

Right now Gorton's is encouraging everyone to eat fish and/or seafood at least twice a week to get the health benefits of seafood.  For those of you who are watching your weight, fish & seafood are a natural source of lean protein and definitely less calories than the majority of red meat. In addition, fish & seafood is high in Omega 3 Fatty Acids and we all need more of that in our daily diets. Incorporating Omega 3 from natural sources like fish & seafood can help promote great heart health by reducing heart disease and/or strokes.

Often times the home cook is afraid of making fish and seafood and that is mostly because they don't know what to make with it. (aka recipes). However, Gorton's solves that problem for all of us because they have a great recipe section on their web site and a lot of Gorton's frozen fish & seafood products can simply be baked, grilled or fried. You can use them in your favorite recipe or just bake and enjoy the simple and classic way!

My Review: The great folks over at Gorton's sent us a coupon to pick up any Gorton's products that we wanted to try out. We were a little limited on what we could select as our stores are a little low on food choices right now thanks to the hurricane we had last week. After some decision making, we selected was the Gorton's Butterfly Shrimp. These are jumbo-sized shrimp that are covered in a crunchy breaded coating. We placed them onto a baking sheet and placed them into our preheated oven. About 15 minutes later, they were done and on our table.

Alongside our Jumbo Butterfly Shrimp, we served some organic french fries and a homemade cherry cobbler for dessert. This meal was simple for me to prepare and I knew my family was in the mood for something simple that night.

We sat down for dinner and dug in! By the time our dinner was over, all of the shrimp were gone! I enjoy mine dipped in ketchup but my daughter & hubby enjoy theirs with cocktail sauce. The jumbo shrimps were absolutely delicious and had just the right about of breading on them. I love that there were no shells to peel off and you simply just snipped off the tail and enjoyed them.

You can check out the Gorton's web site for all of their fish & seafood products. We love Gorton's and every time I hit the grocery store, I always pick up a box or two of their fine products.
